I use aluminium keyring blanks with stainless steel fittings. 
Hand-stamping gives a very individual look. As it is done by hand, there can be slight variations in spacing and depth of letters - this is not a fault but adds unique beauty to the product and makes it individual.  Each letter is stamped individually by hand, therefore no two items are identical. Slight variations add uniqueness. Aluminium is a softer and more lightweight metal than silver and steel and can pick up slight scuffs with use - this adds to the quirky handmade charm  which will remain to shine.
